Our Story
Aesthetics By Tarah began as a dream rooted in a passion for beauty and a desire to empower individuals through cosmetic care. Founded by Tarah Preston, our journey is one of resilience, personal growth, and a commitment to helping others. With a background in gymnastics and a foundation in nursing, Tarah’s path took her from being a dedicated caregiver in critical care to the world of cosmetic nursing. After relocating to Toowoomba in 2018, she discovered a new calling in helping clients enhance their self-esteem through non-invasive treatments. What started as a small venture in a lash studio quickly blossomed into a thriving clinic, thanks to the unwavering support of her husband, Daniel, and the dedication of her growing team. Today, we proudly offer over 300 services in a state-of-the-art facility, all while remaining committed to our core values of personalised care, quality, and client satisfaction.

Tarah Preston
Tarah Preston, the visionary behind Aesthetics By Tarah, brings a wealth of experience and a heartfelt dedication to her clients. After beginning her career as a gymnast, she pursued studies in sport and recreation before transitioning into nursing. With a bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Tarah has extensive experience across various medical fields, including critical care. Her journey took a transformative turn after becoming a single mother of five, which ignited her passion for cosmetic nursing. Drawing on her background in caring for others, Tarah embraced the opportunity to empower clients through cosmetic injectables and dermal therapies. With a commitment to continuous learning and skill expansion, she opened her own clinic, fostering a welcoming environment where clients feel valued and supported. Today, Tarah leads a talented team of professionals, offering a diverse range of services designed to enhance beauty and confidence in every individual who walks through the door.

Daniel
Co Business Owner and Manager
Opening the clinic with my wife Tarah in 2020 is a massive change from my previous working life. I worked out near the south Australia desert on drilling rigs for my whole working life prior to working at Aesthetics by Tarah. Now I am a fountain of knowledge of dermal and cosmetic treatments. Currently I am studying for my diploma of nursing and will be hopefully working as cosmetic nurse in the near future.
Seeing Aesthetics by Tarah grow from the humble beginnings of a room in the back of a lash studio to finding the right space open a clinic has been an amazing journey to watch. I was able to be the resident handy man for all this growth. From painting, laying flooring and interior decoration there isn’t anything I didn’t give a try.

My favorite part of working at Aesthetics by Tarah is the rapport I get to build with the clients and the journey I am able to witness them take. I am incredibly proud of our amazing staff and am amazed as the care and effort put in from everyone.
You will often see me around the clinic setting up equipment or working on reception. If I am not at Aesthetics by Tarah, I am caring for our beautiful blended family with seven children. If you see me around the clinic or in town don’t be afraid to say hi, I am always up for a chat.

Hi my name is Lauren.
I finished my diploma in Beauty Therapy in 2007 which means I have been in the industry for 17 years. I graduated at the top of my class along with winning the World Skills Australia competition through Qld Tafe for my graduating year.
Since finishing my diploma I have completed a lot of external studies with various skincare companies including Payot, Algologie, Fleur De Mer, Medicare 8, Dermalogica, Yuva and Ultraceuticals.The skin absolutely fascinates me.

My career has been very generous to me and I have met some incredible people along the way. I have had the pleasure of learning of incredible mentors including Napoleon Perdis (back in my makeup days) I have even been granted an incredible opportunity of a trip to the USA where I got to learn off some of the most well renowned experts in our field.
You will generally find me on the front desk at Aesthetics By Tarah. My main job is to make sure the clinic runs as smooth as it can but my extended career and knowledge means I can help each client with all of their skin needs as well as jump in to give the girls a hand where I can.
My all time favourite skin treatment is the Ultraceuticals A-Zyme Peel and my all time favourite product is the Ultraceuticals Pore Refiner.
The thing I love most about my career is that no two interactions with clients are the same. Everyone has their own story to tell and I love that our clients trust us so much to help them on their self love journey.

I started with Aesthetics by Tarah at the end of March 2024. I completed my Diploma of Beauty Therapy at Demi International in Toowoomba at the beginning of 2023 and this is my first job in the Aesthetics industry.
I first commenced my journey into this industry when I studied my Certificate in Beauty at TAFE when I was in school as I was always interested in the topic of skin and beauty. I have recently started a Nursing degree at University here in Toowoomba so that in the future I can venture towards the Cosmetic Nursing side of Aesthetics. I have always had an interest in Injectables and am super excited to have knowledge of both sides of Aesthetics as they both complement each other.
My current favourite treatments are LED and Skin Needling as both have amazing results and can treat a myriad of concerns. I am also super excited to start doing our new treatment Plasma Fibroblast as the results are phenomenal and the skin can be treated at a much more drastic level.
I have gained lots of knowledge about skin and beauty since starting at Aesthetics by Tarah and have loved being able to share this knowledge with clients. I have enjoyed my time here at Aesthetics by Tarah , especially the environment created by the team and the opportunities to expand my skills.

Hey! My name is Chloe and I am one of the senior dermal beauty therapists at Aesthetics by Tarah. I’ve been working here since just after my daughter was born in 2021 and have been here ever since.
I first started in the beauty industry when I was 11/12 when I worked at my mum’s hairdressing salon (which is on the same street we work now) as a tea/tidy assistant. The salon had a nail and beauty tech who I used to love watching as they worked. In high School, I followed this passion for the beauty side of things and completed my Diploma of Beauty therapy in 2017! During my studies I received 1st place in the TAFE Spotlight competition for my makeup application. After this, I did a few short courses on acrylic nails, assisting makeup artists with jobs and some freelance beauty treatments before landing my first ever job at a skin and laser clinic. This is where I first met the future Aesthetics girls, and I haven’t looked back since!

The girls and atmosphere at Aesthetics By Tarah really feels like I’m catching up with good friends (Hence why I still work with them 😊). With all the knowledge every one of the girls bring, I love being able to further my skin knowledge every day. In my free time I am always researching and re-educating myself on our treatments to continue improving my skills and knowledge.
I really enjoy all things advanced dermal meaning I love any skin treatment that packs a punch in terms of results. I also enjoy being able to provide treatment plans for those who feel like they’ve tried everything and help point them in the right direction for the best possible skin health.
Creating a safe space and making people feel comfortable in themselves is my main goal with any treatment. To go further with this, I began my studies as an enrolled nurse and will be full qualified in September. With the plan to combine my love for dermal science with nursing to be able to perform more advanced treatments for my clients.
My favourite treatment to have would have to be consistent skin needling and LED therapy. Paired together is like a match made in heaven and I’m always getting compliments about my skin glowing post needling and LED.

I joined the team at Aesthetics by Tarah as a dermal and beauty therapist in April 2024, coming from the spa industry as a skin specialist. I commenced my career within the beauty industry whilst studying a Diploma in Beauty Therapy, Diploma in Salon Management and Distinction in Service Excellence from The French Beauty Academy, Brisbane in 2023. I made the move to the beauty and aesthetics industry as I have a fascination with the skin and skin conditions, how they develop and how to manage them. This started after working in a account management role with dermatologists that specialised in skin cancer detection and treatment, seeing the impacts that skin cancer has on individuals and families and how prevalent it is across Australia. This interest has led me to now undertake my Associate Degree in Applied Health Science (Dermal Aesthetics), with the intention upon graduation and further specialised study to be able to assist in the management of complex skin conditions for clients.
I am thoroughly enjoying my time with the team at Aesthetics by Tarah, in particular I appreciate that the team are so open to suggestions on improvements to existing treatments and procedures and the introduction of new treatments and products based on industry trends and advancements to greater enhance the client experience and results.
I am a wife and mum of 3 girls. I love to cook, collect cookbooks and can usually be found researching new recipes on a weekly basis, most I never end up actually testing out. I grew up in Far North QLD so am an enthusiastic Cowboys supporter and love to travel up to visit the family as often as I can.
My favourite regular treatment to perform is skin needling. I love how customisable it is for all skin types and conditions and that we have the options to elevate the treatment with the inclusion of other modalities and serums. Fibroblast is also quickly becoming one of my favourite treatments due to the near instant changes that it provides, and the long term results that it is giving clients.

As a teenager, I always knew that I would be good with my hands and should definitely make a career out of it, I also had a massive interest in make up and taking pride and how I looked.
I went and did a diploma of beauty therapy straight out of school, and then went on to do another advanced diploma of beauty adding in more qualifications and diplomas. After I finish my studies, I got a full-time job on a Busy make up counter in a massive retail store in Dublin. I knew I was going to want to travel at some point and Australia was next on the list! I have worked in busy makeup counters in Sydney CBD, assisted in make up for Australia’s next top model, had a wonderful four year career with Ella bache and then went onto advance my skills within the Medi aesthetic industry obtaining my laser license and learning more advanced skin treatments. I have worked at aesthetics by Tarah for nearly 4 years now and have absolutely loved every second of it!
I thoroughly enjoy taking clients on a skin journey and getting to know them and helping them achieve their best skin so they can feel the best in themselves. I love working alongside the nurses and seeing the clients get such phenomenal results when they come to our clinic, and trust us with their skin. Between all of us in here we are so skilled and have so much knowledge and we want to share that with you so you can feel absolutely amazing. I couldn’t pick one service that I love doing most because I have so much variation in each day from a simple eyebrow sculpt to PRP skin needling and everything in between!
